Challenge
A city portal is a platform that brings together information, services and communication with residents, and it has to effectively meet the needs of users with different goals, expectations and levels of expertise.
Project goals
- Shortening the path to the most important services, documents and official matters.
- Integration with many external systems.
- Performance optimization.
- Ensuring a high level of data and system security.
- Aligning the site with WCAG 2.1 requirements.
- Meeting the requirements of public procurement law.
- Building an intuitive CMS that lets the city hall manage content on its own.
Result

High site performance
We optimized the architecture and content delivery, so the site runs fast and reliably on every device, even under heavy traffic and with an extensive information structure.

Advanced search
Thanks to intelligent search, residents can reach the information they need in seconds, regardless of where they are or the device they use.

A new, simplified site structure
We organized hundreds of pages and categories into a coherent navigation system that makes it easier to move around the site and find what you need.

Easy access to matters that matter to residents
The most important resident matters are now available faster and more simply, without unnecessary steps or searching for information.

All official procedures and documents in one place
Giving residents fast, simple access to all procedures and documents in one place was one of our main priorities.

An intuitive CMS
The CMS was designed to make content management as simple as possible and to let the city-hall team run the site on their own.
Our ambition was to raise the bar for what public-sector websites can look like. We didn't stick to the usual templates. We started with conversations and an analysis of the needs of residents and city-hall staff, to create a solution truly fit for their day-to-day work.

This is a project where scale and complexity demanded very deliberate technology decisions, especially around structure, performance, security and scaling the system.
